 ADVANCED WARNING!

Intent to retire certain items.......

With the advent of Firestorms PBR viewer, the advent of 2k textures and Adobe going full Borg collective/1984 I will be making a full change over to Instamat for the time being, this means that certain items are going to be redone in Instamat along with alignment to the theme/fatpack model I have been operating from recently.

Those that have brought said items should contact me in SL for a free upgrade to the replacement material (I'll also soon be looking into auto update boxes in SL but have had past unpleasant experiences so want to make sure I get what is needed before proceeding down that path.

This weeks replacements are as follows -

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TI-PBR-Hexagon-Flooring-Purple-Emissive/25462574

To be replaced with a new 1k and 2k version.

And https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TI-PBR-Hexagon-Flooring-Black-Emissive/25462517

Which likewise will be upgraded with 1k and 2k versions.

Their sister item https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TI-PBR-Hexagon-Flooring-Blue-Emissive/25462313 will remain up for sale as a legacy item as it was the foundation for the new upgraded store.

In addition there will be new variants coming as well, with a time line of about 2 days till they are release.

PBR texturing and problems - a rundown. Q - What is PBR and how does it relate to second life? A - PBR (short for  Physically-Based Rendering)  texturing is a semi new format used in the 3d industry that is used in current render engines, Second life has now been upgraded to take advantage of this new format, leading to new opportunities with enhanced textures that more realistically interact with light with a high level of focus on improved metal and emissive (glowing) representation. Q - How does it differ from the old format? A - The diffuse/specular/normal workflow has been replaced with a new workflow of Base Color/Combined roughness metal/Normal/Emissive (4 textures in total, in addition there is now no need to apply each map separately or upload separately as they can be packaged together in a material which can simply be dragged and dropped onto an object.  In your inventory they should look like this - Double clicking the item (now known as a material) will display the texture
